I don't believe in quick fixes. I believe in thoughtful leadership that lasts. Because our schools deserve nothing less.
I am originally from Wichita, KS.
I attended college at Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS where I met my partner of 20 years. We moved to Fort Collins in 2007
I have three children that currently attend school in the district.
I have a Phd in Education.
I've spend over two decades working on student success. Focused on student transition, persistence, and graduation. Helping students with their academic, social, and emotional, needs.
BUDGET OVERSIGHT AND PROGRAM ACCOUNTABILITY
Stewarded budgets across programs, departments, and projects working to balance competing priorities while aligning financial decisions with student success goals. Led initiatives in environments with little to no funding.
This helps me evaluate and guide district spending with both fiscal responsibility, innovation, and educational outcomes in mind.
STUDENT SUCCESS AND RETENTION
Designed and led programs that improve student persistence, graduation, and academic success.
This work translates directly to ensuring PSD students are supported, academically and emotionally from entry through graduation.
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
Oversaw a residential community of 500 students, balancing student wellbeing with building management and staff supervision. Coordinated with dining, facilities, custodial, and front desk services while managing crisis response and support services.
This parallels the day-to-day realities of leading a school building, ensuring safe environments, strong services, and effective operations.
STUDENT CONDUCT AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Administered student conduct processes, determining appropriate responses to behavioral concerns with a tiered discipline system. Balanced accountability and fairness, from warnings to expulsion, while maintaining transparent communication with families.
This prepares me to review and guide student discipline processes that balance accountability with student support.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Directly supervised staff at multiple levels, from student employees to executive directors, adapting leadership to different levels of experience and responsibility.
Through these experiences I developed the ability to hold others accountable and support professional growth, skills directly relevant to the board’s responsibility to supervise the superintendent.
